Woman in a Sauna

Infrared Sauna

We are excited to offer sauna sessions in our Infrared treatment space that incorporates a restful meditation area with a Solo Carbon Far Infrared Sauna.

The far infrared light offers our bodies the benefits of the light in the sun's invisible light spectrum without the harmful UV rays. This light is converted to heat in the sauna booth which penetrates your skin deep into the body's tissues and can assist our bodies with healing, as well as offering amazing relaxation and pain relief benefits, and eliminating toxins built up in the skin.

Our Sauna also delivers Chromotherapy during your session.

Sweat - an effortless and efficient way to boost your wellness

Our bodies crave light and heat to heal and repair and sweating is the body's most effective, yet underused method of detoxification.

When heat penetrates deeply into tissues, muscles and joints, oxygen flow and circulation is boosted. Infrared heat therapy can be an effective treatment for chronic pain, arthritis and other injuries.

The fabric of our clothing, our activity levels, our exposure to chemicals in the air, even our deodorants - all these things can cause your skin to become inactive. To reactivate your cells, you can do things like hit the gym or go for a run, but if that is not an option for you or if you are looking for something to complement your health and fitness efforts, infrared sauna is for you.

The energy given off in our sauna works on reactivating and triggering the release of toxins stored in your cells. If your body is not used to sweating, it is normal that you may find it takes a few sessions to get a truly healing deep sweat. But from your first session, inside your body your cells will be receiving the amazing benefits of infrared heat: burned calories, increased metabolism, weight loss, body cleanse, pain relief, stress and anxiety relief, healing and repair of cells and so much more. All while you are sitting down, listening to your favourite music or meditation or even watching a show or movie on your devices.

Why use an Infrared Sauna?

Far infrared is the longest wavelength which penetrates the fat cells causing vasodilation, where the fat cells vibrate to expel toxins, resulting in the greatest levels of detoxification and stimulate your metabolism.

The sun is the primary source of radiant energy, but not all of this energy is beneficial. Although life needs energy from the sun, too much sunlight damages the skin.
Infrared heat provides all the healthy benefits of natural sunlight without any of the dangerous effects of solar radiation.

Breathing is easier and healthier because the air temperature is not heated to the same degree as other types of saunas. The infrared heat penetrates deeply into your body to relax sore muscles and help alleviate pain.

  • Weight Loss

Studies have shown that an infrared sauna session can burn calories while you relax! As the body works to cool itself, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories.

  • Pain Relief

Infrared heat penetrates tissue, joints, and muscles to relieve anything from minor aches and pains to chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. Pain management professionals incorporate infrared heat therapy into treatment plans to decrease pain and muscle spasms and to speed up recovery time.

  • Improved Circulation

Heating the muscles with infrared rays produces an increase in blood flow similar to that seen during exercise. Regular infrared sauna use can significantly stimulate blood flow up to twice the normal rate.

  • Detoxification

Sweating is the body’s safe and natural way to heal & stay healthy. Far infrared heats the body directly causing a rise in core temperature resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where toxins reside.

  • Relaxation

Unlike traditional saunas which operate at extremely harsh temperatures, infrared is gentle, soothing and therapeutic heat that promotes relaxation and improved sleep. Infrared sauna therapy helps you relax leaving you fully refreshed after each session.

What Is Chromotherapy?
It is the science of using colors to adjust body vibrations to frequencies that result in health and harmony. Humans need the sun’s light which is broken into seven distinct rays. If there is an imbalance in these colors within our bodies, it can manifest itself in mental or physical distress. Each color possesses frequencies of a specific vibration, and each vibration is related to different physical symptoms. Chromotherapy works on various energy points to help you body re-establish its natural balance.

FAQ's

Is a Far Infrared Sauna safe?

Infrared has been tested and reported to be safe for all living things. Infrared is often used in hospitals for keeping newborns warm.

Saunas are safe for most people as long as the sauna user follows a few simple rules: stay inside the sauna for no more than 45 minutes at a time; lie down or sit for at least 10 minutes after using the sauna; make sure you drink plenty of water before and after the sauna; always relax after a sauna session. If you are under 16, pregnant or have a heart condition then this treatment may not be for you. If you are unsure or have a medical condition then please check with your doctor beforehand.

How often can I use the sauna?

There is no one answer for the amount of sessions per week, but infrared saunas are safe to use every day. In fact, you will see wellness improvements sooner if you use it daily. On average, most people partake in 30-45 minute sessions, 3-4 times a week.

Do I Have to Drink Water Before Using the Infrared Sauna?

It is very important that one hydrates thoroughly before and during use of the Infrared Sauna. As the body heat increases and the body begins to sweat, the loss of water can change the electrolyte concentration and can have harmful effects. Furthermore, as the toxins are released through the sweat, they are, to a lesser extent, released in the body and hydrating helps the body flush them out.

How Does the Infrared Sauna Detoxify the Body?

We currently live in a relatively toxic environment and these toxins are stored in our fat cells. When the infrared light penetrates the body and converts to heat, this heat has the ability to melt the fats holding the toxins and also activate the detoxification mechanisms which then purge the toxins.
